Call for Candidates - IAWE Scholarships
The International Association for Wind Engineering (IAWE) is pleased to announce its support for its first dedicated Working Group: “Equitable Response to Wind Climate Change: Impacts, Adaptations, and Mitigations.”
To encourage participation and support researchers from Africa, IAWE will provide ten (10) grants to attend the 1st International Colloquium on Climate Change in Wind Engineering.
Grant Support
Each grant has a maximum value of €600, which may be used to cover:
1- Conference registration fees
2-Partial support for travel expenses (flight and/or accommodation)
The total amount awarded per recipient shall not exceed €600. Grants will be paid directly to awardees onsite by the IAWE Treasurer.
Eligibility
The IAWE grants will be awarded to:
– 3 senior researchers
– 7 young active researchers (graduate students, postgraduate students, or postdoctoral researchers)
Applicants must be of African origin. For the purpose of determining regional eligibility, the applicant’s region will be based on the country where their first university degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) was obtained.

Required documents:
1- An informal application letter including personal details (home country/current country of residence, date and place of birth)
2- A short CV (maximum 2 pages)
3- Current affiliation (if applicable)
4- Current active email address
Additional Requirements
Applicants are also required to register for the colloquium at the time of application.
The Selection Committee will be appointed by the IAWE Executive Board and will consist of the Working Group Coordinators together with three IAWE officers representing the three IAWE regions.
Notification of Results
Successful applicants will be notified by 30 June 2026.
